It is worth slugging the bore to confirm what it is and a MN or similar will probably prefer a diet of .311 bullets. Our .308's went into an SVD and worked incredibly well (For and SVD!) out to 1000 yards.

The good news is 54R milsurp bargains can still be found and Personally I would say get a 54R slot on your FAC and start buying light ball whenever you see it. The Bulgarian HB is also good if you shoot over 7/800 yards

It's hardly fair to join in just for the sake of it but all this tautology: bullet... head... that's like rifle gun. Actually, rifled gun sounds quite nice if not a little long winded.

Tell you what, they're bullets. Because if they're heads, what are bullets? And, no, I don't have a Navy background.
