Re: 9mm Lantac Straight Pull Announced
That would complete the black rifle trio quite nicely.
Careful now/that sort of thing
Re: 9mm Lantac Straight Pull Announced
This could be a very shrewd move by Lantac! It’s a good shout...
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Re: 9mm Lantac Straight Pull Announced
I'm hoping SGC will reintroduce the LA9. I'd prefer a lever action mechanism to a straight pull.

I agree, however, I very much suspect it will follow Lantac's usual pricing structure i.e. expensive.johngarnett wrote:Even I think I NEED one!! Santa?????

it’s not, I promise. has thousands of rounds through the same style handle on a 5.56 Lantac. The raised bits are rubber.Airbrush wrote:Don't like the end of the side charger, looks uncomfortable to use.

Re: 9mm Lantac Straight Pull Announced
If building a straight pull 9mm was easy several well known AR builders would have offered them years ago as 9mm uppers, lowers and BCG are available in the States.
One UK gunsmith did build a 9mm straight pull but getting it to feed and extract reliably was such a pain he never made another one.
The issue seems to be the short length of the case and if you remember SGC opted for the longer M1 carbine .30 cal cartridge for his lever operated carbine.
So it will be interesting to see if lantac has solved the problem.

Sorry to butt in but why do they put an extra handle on the straight pull ar15's and not use the normal charging handle??

Re: 9mm Lantac Straight Pull Announced
Because it’s much nicer to use a side charger than to have to completely unmount the rifle to access the charging handle which is often under a scope.pluginal wrote:Sorry to butt in but why do they put an extra handle on the straight pull ar15's and not use the normal charging handle??
