Hi Cornish, reference the mags I have been told by another TAC owner these mags do work, apparently the first couple of goes they are tight to fit, after that are fine. They also feed perfectly well

I can't see that AICS mags working in the CTR...
That said, I do want to see if CTR mags are interchangeable with Sako TRG! They look very similar apart from the plastic shoe the CTR mags have on the bottom.
TRG mags run at £199.99!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Re: My new Tikka TAC A1
Sim, as far as I could find out they are compatible, only with a plastic floor plate/base.
I have both mag types and a TacA1. Apart from those MDT poly mags being absolute pants (only hold 8 rounds of 6.5 308 etc.) they do not fit the TacA1 correctly, the TacA1 mag is a much shorter and wider mag with staggered feeding.
Originally a well known rifle magazine company here in the UK were selling the CTR mags for about £78, as soon as people realised it also fits the TacA1 the price jumped to £115
Next visit to the states (God knows when it'll be!) I'll pick up another few genuine Tikka mags from Europtics, $85 - £63

Sporting Services in Crawley have mags for £110. Still expensive but cheaper than others have mentioned...
Re: My new Tikka TAC A1
Cheers gents, I think I’ll jut get a genuine one, still a crazy price for a mag.
