Re: Purchasing new brass advice and expectations
I found Lapua 223 brass was very soft, I was always trimming more off than I do with Winchester brass and I wasn't pushing them very hard.
Arming the Country, one gun at a time.
Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.

Re: Purchasing new brass advice and expectations
i found the primer pockets in GGG were more variable than RWS or PPU so some were hard to press in & a very few so easy i was worried they would come out on firing.
best brass i got was RWS, we salvaged several k of it that now rotates abt younger shooting clubs & HPS who reload it. only after 5-6 loads did we find a very few necks splitting so now they are all annealed each time. i bought a salt bath annealer off someone on here
& anneal the necks every time now & they are working to 15+ relaods. first 2 loads needed neck trim after that they seem to settle down.
I make a 308W CIP equivalent for cost saving - i find case prep has least effect on accuracy vs bullet type or charge..... its also laborious & boring! so I do them in batches of 100 then load them in batches of 50.
HPS own head stamp brass was MEN boxer, that is also very good.
