If you think you want some different firearms later then ask for them now. If not, apply for a variation later in the correct manner as your needs/desires change. The cost of a variation is not prohibitive

Which will be the same as a one-for-one variation, as they seem to do the same amount of work with either.

All of the above is good advice, always ask for more than you think you need, they can always be changed later for guns you do want.
