I'm still trying to track down all the details, but from the serial number and a little research (plenty more ongoing) it looks as though it was built in 1896, then selected for re-working and had the stock cut down in 1953. It's currently with Paul at TVG being thoroughly checked over, cleaned and reblued.

Furniture seems to be available in the USA and they are still available in Norway, if you get stuck sourcing any parts shout as I have numerous contacts in Norway and Denmark some of whom are very keen shooters.
One of our VP's was over last week and we were talking about the Krag, he recounted a meeting with a very elderly chap out in the mountains, they were chatting away when the old chaps son rushed in to say another equally old friend (80+) was cycling down the road. With that the old chap hauled a Krag out of the wardrobe, loaded it and waited until his friend was right outside, then fired it out of the window. Apparently it was an age old joke to see if he could frighten his friend enough to fall of his bike.
