Re: Fitting a Harris bipod to a Lee Enfield No 4 Mk2
[/img]For any who may be interested - the "mod" proved easy and very effective. I removed the webbing loop from a spare sling swivel purchased on eBay, so that only the part held by the band screw remained (pic 1). The bipod then mounts onto this but requires the right amount of packing as Alpha1 mentioned. I used a Harris No. 7A adapter which is a wedge shaped rubber spacer (to compensate for the taper on the stock) as well as a piece of 4.5mm thick high density rubber cut to a similar size (pic 2). The bipod pulls up well against the stock and there is no permanent modification as the sling swivel can simply be refitted.

Yes that's how I did it.

Oh the sacrilege.
What's wrong with an old sandbag? It was good enough for my granddad.

Look on eBay for neoprene foam sheet, it normally sold in 300x300 sheets and comes in various thicknesses. I bought some and used it to make "slip in" elbow pads for a shooting jacket instead of buying the propriety ones.

Absolutely, it's his rifle do do whatever he wants with.
