I have two original foil cased rounds of .577 Snider at least 140 years old. No not tempted to fire them and before the comments I have .577 ammunition on my fac

Yes i have seen a few videos of the shooting of original ammunition.
I wouldn't want to break up a complete original packet as they are vary rare now. I was lucky with these blanks as i won a big bag of loose cartridges at auction for £30.
I'm just old enough to have been one of the generation that bought and shot surplus 303 at £40 a hundred in the early 00s. Some of the stuff was great war dated, other stuff was green with Verdigris. Quality was variable and hangfire drills were frequently employed.

I doubt I would shoot the ones that have the packaging, although it was open when I acquired them.
I do have 2 foil, and 2 drawn brass cartridges, tempting but just ca not do it.
Picture has one of my modern cartridges along side.
