Thanks all!

@Ovenpa- its a Marlin 1895SBL in 45-70 that i'm loading for. I love it, but i'm obviously limited on where i can shoot it, hence wanting a .44 to go with it.

That is a good looking rifle, are you shooting with open sights and what distance do you get out to with it?

Thanks, yes i think it is a beauty!
Longest distance i've got out to so far is 200m, but i havent worked up a load for it and was using a loading for 50-100m and was having to aim off significantly! Sticking mainly to 50m local range.
Using the standard ghost rings, i'm one of those people who believe a lever rifle looks wrong with a scope! The previous owner had it fitted with an Aimpoint Micro T-1.
