Had a good shufti round the assembled stuff, it was rammed this morning. Then walked over to the shotgun bit to let my lad try his hand with a .410, he hit two of eight, not bad at all. Wandered down to 600yd point at Century to show him what they were doing there, and what 600 yds looks like.

Had another look round the trade stands, bought some .357 for the cowboy gun, a long slip and a jacket. Also spotted a Musgrave when I was looking at a rack of long barelled rifles, the one next to it was a Swing, and another whose name I recognised not. The Musgrave looked like it had been around a bit, and the asking price was £750. It had match sights fitted, and, as far as I could tell, no way of fitting a telescopic sight. The Swing was, from memory, £1120 or thereabouts, and again looked like it had been well 'enjoyed'. Are these older guns still worth the money?

Didn't manage to locate Dromia, it was quite difficult getting round, and I noticed a lot of the staff on stalls didn't look terribly happy. Perhaps stuff wasn't selling too well, although I did see people buying rifles from Portsmouth Gun shop.

On the way back some chap in a van knocked the mirror off my vans drivers door, didn't seem inclined to stop so I turned round to find him. Ended up following him into Bisley and into the exhibitors parking. I remonstrated with him, using some basic Anglo-Saxon to express my displeasure, but he seemed to think it was normal behaviour to hit other people's vehicles, and judging by the state of his van I could well believe him. Hope I didn't buy anything from him earlier!
Careful now/that sort of thing

We have not long got in from an enjoyable, if tiring day at the Phoenix.
Many forum members met, some for the first time, some for the second and third which I think is pretty good when you think we all met on the internet. Dromia and Mrs. Dromia, dodgyrog, Christel and ovenpaa, Dangermouse, Sim G, EagerNoSkill, Toffe wrapper, Dr. Strangelove and soon to be forum member Steve. Just as we were leaving for the third time, Gaz spotted our forum hoodies and introduced himself. Good to meet you all.
Hope those that were shooting did well and have a good evening tonight.

Cracking day yesterday - bought more Enfield bits from Terry Abrams, stocked up on .303 from Westlander, drooled over Dromia's rather rare No.4 (if only I had the £675 asking price!), and jarred my shoulder by trying out a mate's new Moisin Nagant right at the end of the day.
Great to meet ovenpaa, Christel, bobbob, dromia and Mrs Dromia! Apologies to those others I did meet - my memory's a bit sketchy at the best of times and I can't remember usernames.

Good to meet you Gaz, not quite sure how we managed to loose everyone at the end of the day though. The plan was to meet up for a quick drink but somehow we ended up driving around the camp looking in the wrong places. Sorry about that.

Also good to meet up with other F-B'ers old and new, Dromia plus the lovely Mrs Dromia, Saddler, KennyC (not in shorts!) We bumped into Mike357 briefly and the RunningMan, Dougan, BNZ and Bobbob, M41B John25 of course and IainWR, Doz and Bold Action, SteveE, ENS, 20S - a good turn out from the forum and an impressive number shooting in competitions as well! Apologies to any I have missed.

Our early start Saturday gave us the chance to have a chat with Brian of Fox Firearms and some others.

Roll on the next one!

Only had time for a flying vist of just 2 hours due to bad traffic and swmbo changing plans so had to home by 5pm. Picked up the bits I was after and it was also great to meet up with a few others from the forum. Must try to free up the weekend for next year.
