I am very confident the new owners are about to be introduced to a world of long range accuracy they have not experienced before and with luck I have a few rounds of late NATO at a sensible price sorted for them as well.

Just done some quick maths on my 6.5x55 rounds for tomorrow.

I loaded 200, but a quick break down works out as:

100 142gr Bullets £35
100 New (Fool!) Lapua brass cases £66
100 Primers £4

I get approx 152 loads of powder out of a 1lb tub (45.5gr)- so about £40 for powder.

Total £145/100 rounds - that is without time and effort. We are currently paying around £2 a pop for .50bmg - so there really is not much in it!! (Although I can buy Privi 6.5x55 for about £60/100)

What powder are you using that costs over £60/lb?

...that total includes non-consumables, the Lapua brass; unless you only use them once then bin them? If so please mail them in this direction & I will bin them for you...as a favour to you, you understand...;)

Ah yes early morning maths. 40 a lb. But the 50 brass is also reloadable. Consumables are not as easy to find but they are there when you look hard enough. I have the lee 50bmg press and dies.
