That's the problem: the bolt handle doesn't come out at any point.

It will do, you just have to learn the appropriate level of violence, sorry, force, to use with this gun
I put the stock on my leg with the gun facing vertically and use my left hand to push down on the drive block/action bars until the bolt carrier and action bars align enough to allow the bolt handle to be released. The bolt on mine is at least 3/4's of the way back before it will release.
If you fit an enlarged bolt handle it makes it a lot easier. Mines actually hard to reinsert than remove, so get ready to have some more 'fun' once you actually get it out!

Yeah it does come out, you need to align them (more feel than looking) and then pull hard. The first time it will be very stiff (ooer) but after that it gets easier.

Odd Job - I had the same problem when I first got mine. Once you have aligned the notch in the bolt with the bolt handle there is a sprung ball/detent inside the bolt holding the handle in place. Mine felt like it was locked in solidly but you just have to overcome the initial resistance (pull hard).
I'm not sure if it gets easier the second time or whether you just get used to the amount of force required.

Collected my BR99 today and cant wait to get out with it but think a day in the shed is needed first fettling. the 10 round mags are so tight. I don't want to start using it until it is somewhere near right, I'd only end up spitting my dummy out. Also what sights are you all running?
I've seen a few threads regarding replacement lowers for these on various forums, is that still going to happen or has the project been scrapped completely and on youtube someone that has done a DIY left hand charging handle but I cant find any instructions on how to do it, anyone have a link to this too?

Take care !!!
I fettled TOO MUCH in the mag well, once its off it won`t go back.
. I had one of my 10rd mags done by ovenpaa and it made a big difference
and will get my other ones done as well soon. I suggest you try getting this done FIRST.
