So did I a few minutes ago and they confirmed the Italian sourced ones were long since gone however they are going to have a look out for me and see what they can find.

What's special about the Fazakerley? Apart from the carbines they all look extremely similar to me. Yes I like open sights as well, it's a bit more manly...
Dombo63 wrote:No 4 Mk 2. Picked up a very nice late model Fazakerley. Good bore, overall excellent condition, and shoots way beyond my current abilities! I tried an old SMLE and a No5 as well but just got on better with the No 4. Also it's nice to have open sights so I can get competent with them as well as the scope on the 700.
Isn't the Lee Enfield No. 1 Mk VI pretty much like rocking horse you know what?

I don't know... I just sat down and read about the history of the Enfield .303 and that rifle stood out as one of the better .303's. If you think they're scarce then I guess they are a good rifle. I have a feeling it's going to take a long time to find the right Enfield!

They do exist, I'm pretty sure one of the guys in our club had one but I have never seen it as much as I'd love to. I would like one, I like the site set up with the peep site over the v-notch as on an SMLE. I think I remember reading in Skennertons book that they didn't make many at all in the low thousands possibly but don't quote me on that!

I have just remembered, I know a man with a couple of very good No4 mk1. I've seen them and they are imactulate. PM me with your email and I can put in touch!

I can see the Enfield .303 is a connoisseurs rifle! I bet it takes me months to decide which one I want let alone find one!

...cut back on the sugar/sweeties & buy some reference books - you'll get there in the end - possibly :good:

That's a good point actually. Are there any good reference book stalls at the British Shooting Show?

Skennerton's The Lee Enfield Story is very good, if quite pricey. He has also done some shorter pamphlets on specific rifles.
