"Squirrel nicking our Nuts" :!:

Bnz called me downstairs to watch and listen to our Bengal, Max. He was on top of his scratching post all excited, chirruping and staring out of the window. It was our lone squirrel. Last time I saw it, it was being chased by a cat. Today it was filling it's larder from our twisted hazel. He was bouncing up and down on the branches befor picking up a nut and burying it. I know greys are a pest but it is still nice to see it around.

We have nut trees out the front but the squirrels will not come into our back garden due to our 3 mogs.

Since winter is coming I decided in the light of what happened last winter to take my olive tree inside. It has been outside since I bought it years ago.
I dare not expose it to another minus 75 degrees (it felt that way) I know they are frost hardy but we lost a lot in the garden last winter and this one is dear to me.

So the clivia and the dragon plant had to move over slightly in the windowsill.

The black grass outside the window also came in. Oh and our really feck off hot pepper. I would like to see that do something.

Right, we are ready!

Very wise christel.

My Cordylines sprouted after they were cut right back but my trea fern looks like it's had it.

And we are promised another hard winter.

Never mind, Spring in 4 months???

That is being very optimistic, in fact that beats me who is normally in the garden end of January thinking "spring is here!" which of course it is not.
