Fab!
I've got a copy of the original delisle drawings, which are very interesting...welrod info is harder to come by, but I have found some CAD models...plus I've sourced (but not purchased) an original tech manual on the welrod...both fab bits of Brit engineering IMO!

Had a Welrod in the mid-80's for a short time.
Was a good idea in theory, but p*** poor in execution...bloody thing was a nightmare at not firing when it was supposed to.
There were better silent pistols of the period; most notably the High Standard.
With the recent S.1 changes that have allowed straight-pull SLR's, can someone not extend a few 455 revolver barrels, or some S&W N-frames, to comply with current restrictions?
A 12" Colt Python would be an interesting bit of kit...

CAD Models? Are they in the public domain?

.455 - now that's what I'm talking about (though Fultons are charge a quid per brass I heard!)...good call saddler.
(I got your pm mate, but it won't let me reply to you?!?)

No, they are not
and I still think the plans are a guarded secret - why I don't know, as WW2 was along time ago, though I have read that the 9mm was still being used in gulf war part1, which might account for it...?
I'm still wait for the technical manual, but I,understand that the .32acp was based on an early browning - but could just be hear-say?

Looks damn good to me, please keep me informed if you take this further - I have a slot for an LBP and I am looking to fill it.

I fancy the idea of a S&W model 14 with long skinny barrel and wrist support ,if only because I've still got a load of speedloaders.

There seems to be a demand for other forms of .22 lbp, is there any merit in getting a group together with a friendly importer and seeing if we can't get S&W to get a batch of something nice together?

I certainly wouldn't be interested in one, I've owned a Buckmark LBP and shot the 1911 and neither were (for me) in any way comparable to shooting my pre-ban pistols or revolver. I've also shot the converted Taurus in .357 and .44 and found them to be poorly made.
The only thing I'm even thinking of buying now is the Westlake converted Armscor with the match barrel,
http://westlakeengineering.com/15105.html and at £850 for a muzzle loader it's pretty low on my list.
saw the westlake gun at the shooting show and to be honest i wasn't impresed ,personally i would have two uberti cattleman pistols and pocket the change ....

S&W should be able to churn out a UK legal revolver or a M&P 22 pistol. If folk are shelling out £2K for a Ruger LBP or nearer £4K for a German sourced S&W revolver.
