The courses of fire for last years CSR Imperial matches are still on the NRA site CSR CoF they are the fourth one down listed as Imperial Competitions.Mikaveli wrote:As someone new to the sport in general, I know even less about CSR. What I've learned so far is:
* It uses UK legal / section 1 versions of 'military style' rifles. Most commonly AR clones, but other rifles are also involved (L98 A1 etc). Is there a fairly simple description of what's eligible?
* It involves shooting from numerous positions (standing, kneeling, prone), at various distances. How is it scored? Is it timed etc?
* What equipment (both for yourself and your rilfe) is needed? Numerous mags - certain optics etc?
How does it differ from PR?
The Urban Contact Match is shot from 100yds down to 25yds and some people have used 9mm or 300 Whisper just for that match. You can use different rifles and /or optics for each match but you can't swap stuff mid match. Some of the higher scoring shooters compete with bolt actions in .308/7.62 in practical optic class.Mikaveli wrote:Quad rails are ok, but that rule is aimed at modifications that might be used as hand stopThanks so where it says under service optic "Fore grips are prohibited, as are any modifications to the fore end" does that mean only 'as-issued' fore-ends are ok - i.e. no quad rails?
Also, I had thought that only .223 / 5.56 rifles were eligible, but the rules mention 9mm bullets. Does that mean guns like the SGC Lever Release are used - would I be at a disadvantage with just a straight pull?
So much so, there is already a user with the name Badger!meles meles wrote:Are they badger friendly?
There is no .22 mini CSR comp - and there are CSR type competitions at Diggle and other ranges too.honsu wrote:Hi is CSR only done at Bisley or are there other ranges that take part and is there also a mini CSR comp for .22 semi auto rifles?
