Re: Tried to order a CMMG

I took the CMMG BHOA thingy out of my Lantac as it did nothing but foul up the action.

I changed the cheapo stock that it came with for a Fab Defence one I had on my Ruger SR22 and it is much better for it ( I have told Paul that the stock should be better quality considering the money you pay), also I fitted the "butt plug" from Taccom and whether it improves things I am not sure but the USA forums swear by them when using the CMMG 22lr conversion kits.

Don't overlook the Ruger SR22 as it is as reliable as you would expect for a 10/22 and can be kitted out with rails from Iron Eagle to get it closer to an AR look it doesn't beat the Lantac though).

The BHOA adds parts and complexity to the Atchison style .22 action whether a dedicated .22 or a conversion kit, this will undoubtedly increase the chance of some sort of malfunction as there are extra parts and interactions involved in making it do something that its was never designed to do from conception. That said, it can be made to work with acceptable reliability. However, what is acceptable to one person may not be to another.

The acceptability of the reliability of any Atchison style .22 action must be relatively high as many thousands have been sold over the years and are still selling now with only minor modification. They, on the most part, simply work.

Well, I’ve just part exchanged my Walther G22, that I bought dead cheap of a mate, for a Smith & Wesson MP15-22 MOE (Flat Dark Earth). It is sexy as a Raven? Nowhere near. But it will keep me happy until we see what Lantac come up with, probably next year.

Really? For this to be any more sexy, it would have to be draped over the bear, naked torso of Kylie Minogue!!

And, it has Smith & Wesson on the side!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Looks nice!

I getting to like mine a bit more since I put my scope on it. Mind you I've had to take the sights off to make it fit. Are your extras all genuine Mapul bits or did you get them off the bay?

I too have a 15-22 and LOVE it. I have a parcel waiting to be picked up with some genuine Magpul bits ready to be fitted to mine *excited* Along with some 35 round mags, it certainly puts a grin on your face!

Also have a complete new adjustable trigger kit to fit as well :)

I replaced the springs on mine with JP. The lowers are mil-spec so I also changed the safety for a Battle Arms ambi short lever, the mag release for an extended version, and a NDZ battery assisted device and the body locking pins for some etched "Infidel"!
