John even 25 quid is disgraceful, they can be found for between 10 to 12 quid over here. Could be it would be cheaper buying them from the States, even better if you know someone who can send them over.

Hi Blu,

Life would be fine and dandy if I could get someone to ship 10rd mags from the states which are allowed etc, but trying to get them is like rocking horse poop!

44Mag do Blackdog steel feed lipped xform mags for $12 but they will not ship them outside of the us and will only accept US Creditcards too. If you are a lottery winner you can get them from Midway UK and its more like $50 dollars each inc P&P.

Oh for cheap mags! Anyone want to make a bulk order? I could do with 5 BDM's but I am willing to try CMMG if they are at the right price and have steel feed lips.

How do the CMMG BHOA's work with the external bolt release catch? Is it assumed you'll just use a standard 5.56 bolt release catch?

The thing is, they are 25 round mags. The export licence from the US I believe is $250 alone. Shipping from the US has also reached WTF levels! The level at which VAT is now levied against imports has dropped and as also applied to your shipping, the overall cost just keeps getting bigger. And if you have a shop front to service as well....

I wonder how long it will before Midway UK will seem perhaps not reasonable, but acceptable?

I searched here and on google for that acronym and everything let me down. Any chance you could "un-acronymise" it for me please?

:good: My version of your acronym started "You Stupid Hairy Bastard S..." I think you get the picture!

I like my spikes though, in fact I love it... I'll persevere, it works pretty well with the S&W mags, I just don't like the look of them.

Just an update. I've got 2 of these to use with my CMMG.

A quick review:
The mags don't drop free like the Evo ones.
The lips are a sturdy plastic design.
Spring is VERY strong, so strong that the bolt won't seat a round with it fully loaded. I've been loading 15 for them to work reliably. Been keeping them loaded with the hopes that the spring may settle. If not I'll trim the spring down a little.
Reliable BHOA without a moderator, with mod, the mags get gummed up fairly quickly and fail to engage the BHO.

They're a bit of a compromise between the Mk1 and the Evo mags. But I'm happy with them as I only need 10 rounds for most of the comps I do and that provides reliable operation.
