The serial number is on the barrel, the upper & the lower.
There is no need to put any numbers on your lower.
Stop digging a bigger hole for yourself.
It's a shotgun not a AR.
One serial number on the firearm/shotgun is sufficient for any police force.
Keep it simple, good luck with your project.

Grima, I totally agree, the problem is the original BR99 lowers were Proof marked for some unknown reason which cocks things up a bit.

Would that be European Proof, what probably counts is what UK Proof requires as it might be different.

I have 2 proof marks on my BR
1, On the bolt (just in front of the cocking handle)
2, On the upper (just below the serial number)
No proof mark on the lower
Small crown with the letters G & P (London proof house)

The proof law only come into force when you sell a gun.
If the gun is on your ticket you can alter it to suit your self (as long as it stays legal e.g. shorten barrel)
It's only when you sell the gun it must be reproofed or put back to it's original.

So you can sell your lowers as an after market part, but inform the customer that they must put the original lower back on if they wish to sell or trade the gun.

Check this with the BASC lawyers

Hope this clears the smoke, Steve..........

Any idea when you might be starting this project and how long to complete a gun from order?

Also looking to see the 4 specs and prices when you have them.

I need a couple more people or so to say yes please and I will make a start, I will post the specifications of the different levels within the next couple of days as I am out again tomorrow.

Once everything is ready I would expect to build and ship a custom BR99 in something like 1-3 weeks depending on specifications such as finished paint colour etc.
