£51.50 per 100, Henry Krank £28.40 , that's just taking the p**s, they won't be getting any of my hard earned cash.I'm Not sure how solid a business plan that relies on your customers only coming to you and paying hugely inflated price, when they can't get items anywhere else is, time will tell!!
You're asking them to airfreight lead? What do you expect?
They aren't taking the p***; if you ask a stupid question etc.
They may be expensive, but your example is about the most extreme case you could contrive, and if you base your patronage on that...hmm

..
Im not asking them to do anything, they are offering to sell me products in the UK at almost twice the price of other UK companies, if your happy to pay that then please do so, I am not
I wouldn't pay your Kranks price, but I wouldn't discount buying anything from Kranks, let alone rant about them taking the p***, having hugely inflated prices, gouging customers etc, based on the cost of delivering lead by air. You are basing your argument on a rather silly corner case which is not typical or representative.

..

That reads as if you WILL happily buy the SMK from MidwayUK at £51.50, but NOT from Kranks at a saving of over £23 PER 100 bullets!!

Given the time of year, I can do you a good deal on some true relics of the holy cross: £2,000 for cash should cover it; though P&P will be £15 per order (as it'll cost me £2.80 2nd class & I don't want to be out of pocket providing such a unique service, seeing as I have higher overheads than the Papal City)

As to the price difference for the SMK being in your view "not typical or representative" - Utter bollox.
What about the other example listed earlier for the AR15 handguard?

The business model of SOME firms seems to be based on changing the US Dollar sign on the USA price to a UK sterling sign.
The MidwayUK/BrownellsUK seems to be to do likewise, then further multiply by a random prime number & rip the pi22 on the shipping charges.

Out of interest, WHAT items are they listing that are cheaper than other UK suppliers? I'd GENUINELY like to know
...and maybe we also need to pass the hat round for the a fund for the rest of the UK trade, as they MUST all be losing money one each order that they provide to a UK shooter...I'm surprised they're able to pay their wages bill, rates, electric, petrol for the van, etc. without a 2nd job stacking shelves at Aldi.

No, your statement is complete and utter 'bollox'. Try reading it again.

What about these (and thousands of other products that are not the very extreme of air shipping cost)...

Hornady stuck case remover £19.40 (Spud price £22.00).
RCBS Uniflow Powder Measure £113.60 (Sportsman gun center £97.99)
Redding seater 308 Win £38.20 (Dauntsey guns £31.30)

These are the first three products I looked at. I'm sure I could go on all day illustrating with thousands of products that are nowhere remotely near double in price BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT MADE OF LEAD. Lead is quite a dense material, you know.

Even this doesn't give you the price difference of the item in question.

Out of no interest, I stated that "they (Brownells UK) may be expensive". If YOU want to find something cheaper, YOU go and have a look. Oh, I seem to have inadvertently stumbled on one without even trying. But I never argued that point anyway, so answer it yourself.

Did you mean this in reply to some other post??? It has no relevance to this discussion.

Posted today on the UKPSA forum by Pete Starley...

Alas, after ten years Midway UK is no longer.

We were informed by Midway USA a year ago that they were ceasing all international sales and would just be concentrating on their home market.

We have worked hard over the past twelve months and have now morphed into Brownells UK.

This is a good thing and Brownells ultimately have a better product range. We also have a much better business deal with Brownells and the prices are much better.

With regard to shotgun stuff you should notice a big difference with the likes of Nordic tubes being some 25% cheaper. The whole product range is not on-line as yet and will evolve over the next few weeks.

Your account login for Midway UK will work on the Brownells site.

My quick search shows the £ - $ + a bit pricing policy is alive and well.

Tikka 3 shot magazine-
http://www.berettausa.com/en-us/tikka-m ... /s5840372/
$79 from beretta USA.

http://www.brownells.co.uk/epages/UK.sf ... /913000097
£96.30

Whilst I think it's a good thing to have a supply of specialist gun items in this way, despite quite a bit of looking, I've yet to find something offering exceptional value on the .co.uk website.
