I purchased a Weaver Red/Green Dot Sight from OpticPlanet in the US. No problem with delivery. Cost about $200.
It seems robust and works well.

Update: I have at least solved the red dot issue with my BR99.
I use a Burris Fast Fire III, but there is not enough vertical adjustment to get on target when using a half-inch riser and the flat top mount. You need a 30 MOA riser for this.
So, here is what I have used:
1) Brownells 30MOA riser. There are two parts to this, a mount and a riser. The part numbers are 080000416 and 080000410

The two parts above are combined and then attached straight onto the Picatinny rail of the BR99 (obviously the thick end of the rail will be to the rear).
2) Burris Fast Fire 3 Flat Top version (3MOA dot)

The Burris then gets attached to the rail.
In testing, this dot has withstood the recoil of the shotgun and retained zero. Both the Brownells rail and the Flat top adapter for the Burris are well made and provide a secure base for the sight. The Flat top adapter also protects the Burris sight. You can also use the supplied plastic hood to shoot in the rain if necessary.
