Mad Max: Fury Road

I thought all 3 were utter b movie trash,even Tina turner only made 3 a little better.......straight to video is how I'm hoping this will go....

Thunderdome wasn't in the same league as the first two despite Tina Turner.The best version of MadMax is the original Australian dialogue version with the deleted hot-rod tear up scene.

Just got back from watching this... I should have gone to the IMAX and watched in 3D...

Because it's freeeeeking awesome!!!!

Typical Mad Max movie, straight into the action, car chases, fighting, shooting and streamlined dialogue.

A proper action flick with no let up, no mawkish emotional moments to ruin it. Wham-bam thank you Ma'am, in typical Aussie style they skip the foreplay!

Looking forward to seeing this, from what I have read there is no green screen which I think is excellent in this day and age.

I always heard the American dialogue was because US audiences might not understand the Aussie accents, they seemed to give that up for the second film. There used to be rumour Mel Gibson himself did his American accent but it seemed to be untrue.

In the Aussie dialogue version The Toecutter is softly spoken which is a bit bizarre.The original MadMax has become a cult classic despite being made on 350k Australian dollar budget.

The best funding story I remember is El Mariachi. Roberto Rodriguez funded it by putting himself through medical experiments. The toecutter's actor portrays the villain of Fury Road too. I believe Mel Gibson was the only actor with a full leather Jacket too.

Also you're never actually told how society collapsed. Best I could figure out is that Mad max's world had an alternative history than diverged a bit in the 50's and the cold war seemed to go from bad to worse like people worried it would. Weren't there some supplementary mags that told the back story a bit more around the time of Thunderdome?

And don't forget the series influence on the anime/manga fist of the north star too.

The end of Saw was also inspired by the end scene of MadMax where Max gives Johnny The Boy a hacksaw and gives him the choice of trying to cut the handcuffs or his ankle.

Which had an Aussie writer. He was supposed to be helping a Castlevania film come about. I want a film based on that game series. We need a good modern film that does Dracula as villain right with a good enough protagonist. There is a mad max video game coming out later this year too. Ammo is Scarce in it, so meelee take downs and running people over, class. Hey kids, why waste a shell when you can hop in and use that fast travelling piece of metal you drive in.

Funnily enough the game was censored that much that in the uk we got zombies instead of people, while it was completely banned in Brazil. It was on the list of most controversial video games but probably tame by today's standards.
