If you're going to shoot at 50 yards, a longer barrel may have it's advantages. At 25 yards it's down to aesthetics IMO, 12" barrels are perfectly accurate at that distance.

Yes,
I got mine with the standard length barrel. One comp and a few practise sessions later. Bye bye 3.5" of barrel.
Much more 'pointable' and obviously looks Ally as F*#€.

I wasn't suggesting it was a secret. Just wanted clarification from the horses mouth so to speak, particularly if you're recommending products you have a vested interest in.

I was commenting on barrel length. The OP had already said 'looks like it will be the Lantac'

Hi everyone, Thanks for your comments. I can see the S&W is a very good start point- reliable and value for money. The Lantac is a step up and has the feel and weight of the "real thing".

As Harrogate is only 25 miles I thought to go a visit and do a see and touch. I have e-mailed for current availability and price but so far no info (but only contacted them late yesterday).

Ref: The Glock (Mike357) yes I had one on order but cancelled and got a full refund yesterday from James at Suffolk Rifle. No quibbles just a fast good customer service from James. It turns out the first batch of Glocks is going to be delayed and will be produced in batches of approx 15. When I last contacted Suffolk they had only 7 ordered, with no known delivery date. My Sig is fine, now purchased a double alpha rig so can at least holster it.

I plan to use the new CMMG for practical etc. So if I like what I see when I visit Lantac I plan to go for:

Lantac CMMG MK4, Free Float short barrel pack with adaptor for the S&W Mags. Will then fit my Aimpoint and Crimson Trace Green Laser to it.

This should then be an awesome piece of kit. I just need to practice to take advantage of the rifles capabilities.

So thanks to everyone, once I have the rifle I will place a few pictures and give some feedback as I get it down the range.

Well I don't work for Lantac unfortunately But I did just get this off them a few weeks ago and I love it already the barrel has been cut down to 12 inches too and it looks and feels great in the hand it also can be taken apart and fits in my bag perfectly.
