It is interesting to note that the long barrel and coat hanger extension was never seen on the ranges before the ban. Also these additions do not seem to have been adopted by other pistol users across the globe which would suggest that they are not much of an asset in the development of firearms.

Merely an observation.

I do think the extension on the gsg is particularly ungainly and ugly. I understand why they've installed a counter weight in order to balance the whole gun out, but it stands out much more compared with the K22, which from an aesthetic pov at least is a lot more subtle imo. And I really don't want anymore weight 'out there' anyway regardless of balance arguments. Just out of curiosity, if you guys could only lose one thing (but not both) which would it be, the brace or the extra barrel length?

The brace/coat hanger without a doubt, you don't see the barrel while you're shooting!

The k22 is nicer all round for sure.

I have had a look at the k22 but for £500 the gsg 1911 to me seems to offer a bit more for what I want.

I'm not overly sure if LBP shooting is for me yet and for a introduction it seems the way to go to learn the fundamentals.

From what I have heard and seen its a cheap ish way to get into the sport, seems reliable enough and has some after market accessories if I wanted to go down that route.

In all honesty think I will go for it when my variation eventually comes back.

:D

Sold mine, it was the most unreliable gun I've ever owned.

Interesting, I had no end of trouble with mine, it was one of the first 20 sold and it went back to the factory once and then back to Scott once as well. It's great now, just needed some work, there was an issue at the factory with slide release angle and the chamber.

Now it eats HV like a champ and is incredibly accurate.

Did you give them chance to fix yours? And did you try HV ammo?

Yep it went back twice. The 1911 will shoot subs, standards as well as HV, more accurate too.
