You will get the customs charges, proofing charges, etc.
If only it was that easy .
The USA export licence is supposed to name the specific product .
The USA export licence is supposed to name the UK end user .
The USA export licence would not be approved unless the UK end user has an open import licence
or a single use import licence nameing the specific product.
An FAC with spare slot can act as an import license for an item that can fill that slot.
Also if you get it shipped direct to yourself it will be kept by customs at (eg) Parcel Force until you can prove you are allowed to have the item and you can go collect it (and pay duties etc). Then you will not have to proof the firearm unless you transfer it on, however you should at least inform the Proof House of its arrival as well as the local FEO as you sign it on to your FAC. If it comes via a dealer it will need to be proofed before transferred to your FAC.
Arming the Country, one gun at a time.
Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.

You are sort of correct that a FAC can act as an Import Licence . Non -commercial imports of firearms, their components and ammunition. 81.An import licence is not required for the personal import from outside the EU of firearms covered on a Firearm Certificate, Shotgun Certificate or a British Visitors Permit (BVP) as long as your domestic authority is presented to Customs at import.
However as we were debating an import from USA , it is clear that as of 5 minutes ago , an export licence would not be granted if the end user was reliant
on a FAC for the import . The end user would have to have an import licence . I believe this would be issued FOC , but the export licence would cost in the region of $250.00.
From the perspective of purchasing in the USA and bringing to the UK, these rifles only sell in states that have restrictive laws and we don't have any dealers for them in Texas for obvious reasons. Lantac USA doesn't sell direct to consumers, only distribution or dealer direct. If you bought one from a dealer in the USA and got it exported you wouldn't have any warranty or support in the UK either. So in the long run you would get a better deal purchasing from us in here the UK.
