Some pictures from closer to my house. This area is about a 10 minute drive from my place just inside the national forest land (althought it should probably be listed as a national scrub land). My younger daughter the dog trainer and I took a New Year's day hike in beautiful mild weather. We had our dog gang with us: my two (Australian shepherd dog and border collie/sheltie mix) and her three (two Belgian malinois and a Tibetian terrier) which added up to quite a pack.

Some tired dogs headed back to the Jeep.

As you can see it is pretty dry around where I live. We encountered one woman on horseback with two dogs and about 6 mountain bikers, only 3 of which were riding like maniacs on the trail. A good day had by one and all.

Cracking pictures as usual :good:

Tired dogs are good dogs however it does look warm, do you take water for the dogs aswell?

If we're gone more than 5-6 miles then we have water for the dogs as well. This one was only about 5 miles although there was a lot of down and up the hills. We came across one creek which they all got a drink.

England is somewhat wetter than the desert however on a sunny summers day I am always impressed by how the dogs will find water and take advantage of it even if we are carrying water for them. Water from a muddy puddle in infinitely preferable to tap water any day.

Some pictures from a day trip in 2005. The mission was to find some indian (native American to be P.C.) petroglyphs in the area which we found.

I'm a bit suspicious of the center image in this last petroglyph. Looks too new to me!
