Have you managed to secretly show off your new bench whilst displaying the cheek piece?

That is very nice, I bet that if you made a couple more up and threw them in the car when you go to the range it would not take long to sell them. I think the average AI owner would pay around £50 for something like that. I am sure that it would not be limited to AI stocks.

Looking at the AX system, I see that AI are moving across to quick release sprung systems for the adjustable parts on the stock. That would be my suggestion for a MARK II.

I dare you to send a picture to Graeme for inclusion in the AI showcase.

I think some owners would be put off at the thought of attacking an AI with an electric drill. Yes I should mail Graeme a picture if only to see if he spots the modification!

Thats very good work. I always had mine on the lowest setting, but it was a pain in the bum having to take it out after every shoot for a clean!

Funnily enough as Bell & Carlson don't do their adjustable stock for the Howa (only rem 700 :-( ) I was thinking of doing something very similar for mine. Will have to get the action first obviously, but I like the design of yours. Will have to check if there's any metal work in that part of the stock in mine. I think the plastic will be more than strong enough anyway.

Was thinking of using clear perspex and bending it (dad used to make safety guards with perspex) to the right shape. Think it would look a bit different with clear perspex, plus it could easily be about 3-4mm thick so nice and strong.

something like Lexan could look very nice but if all else fails I can form an aluminium one in the basic shape and post it over for you to finish. I have enough sheet left to make 7-8 more. I just the width of the butt and how deep and long it needs to be.

Membership has but my SCC ran out at end of december. Am hoping the new one will be coming soon from my old club.

Just a quickie on cheekpiece adjusters etc.
I use a lot of A5,s and own a few too, with the adjustable cheekpieces. What i do with all mine, is get the rifle set up with its scope, then set the cheekpiece up perfectly. I then measure the amount the cheekpiece is sat out of the stock. Next, machine up a pair of pillars, to that exact length, that are a slip fit over the cheekpiece legs.Secure them with a couple of grub screws and its done. Then when you have to "show clear" its a couple of turns of the lockscrews, and the cheekpiece pops off easily. More importantly, it goes back on, in exactly the same position. Dead simple.
