Price is the same as an ordinary target however on Siberia you will be charged for an additional zero target/lane but on Century the additional target/lane is included so it works out cheaper on Century (and more challenging)

...and the good news is (or used to be) if you booked it on Century and got bumped back to Siberia you still only paid for the single lane.

Is this so? I thought you paid for however many lanes the castle took up, no matter where it was...

Yup, correct. However always check with the range office which is why I did not mention it

And having walked the butts this evening, looks like we are building another 2 or 3 castle positions on range 11.

Question: what is the maximum range that it would be realistic to shoot McQueen at? eg if we did it at 800 would the result be skill or luck? Thoughts?

I shoot a version at 600m every year in Denmark, a Huns head is exposed for three seconds with five second gaps, it can appear anywhere along a 35m parapet including sneaky peeks through the grass.

It is very doable and highly addictive. I shoot it with my AI and AMA milsurp to be sporting, I must admit at that distance I am looking for hits as much as anything and I tend to get it 90% of the time, extend the time and decent ammunition and I would expect it to work with scoring zones on the target.

Just waiting for my FEO interview / FAC and pondering my first rifle purchase

Would really like to limit myself to one centrefire rifle / calibre for 12 months to learn which disciplines I like and to get to know the calibre well etc.

I'm leaning towards likely doing BR 600 yds and F-Class mid range also, but really fancy a few go's at McQueens!

Ref this:

Is this doable with a single shot rifle?

The McQueen is shot in seven series. B series is explicitly for single-shot rifles. Minimum 10-second interval. Perfectly doable.
