He was a bit weird right enough.

Whilst resting once I was working as a plasterer with a mate of mine in the early 70's. I went with him down to Foyers on Loch Ness to look at a job he was pricing at Boleskine House which had just been bought by Jimmy Page. My mate was a dab hand at repairing and restoring fine plaster mouldings so the pricing was taking a while and the agent said that we could stay overnight in the house, it was empty and we had our sleeping bags.

My mate was a bit of a Aleister Crowley fan so he was right up for it, me I was bit chary as even in daylight it was a bit odd, there were pentangles and signs on the walls and floor. I've seen some weird stuff before, my mother was a Spey wife and I've worked as a grave digger in my time so I'm not usually phased by things supposedly haunting or "supernatural". But that house was bad. I was up all night in dread and both my mate and myself skedaddled as quick as we could in the morning, he was looking decidedly ill. He actually won the contract but wouldn't take it saying he wouldn't go back there for any money and my mate was a real hard man.

So what the hell Jimmy Page got out of the place over the years beats me, it was postively unwholesome. Never saw or heard anything all night, it just felt bad.

Maybe that was why he sold it in the end? Some places are like that, they just feel bad for no explanation at all.

Respect Dromia, I see you in a new light.
You slept in Boleskine House.
:D

Yeah ok, awake then:)

By the time JP bought the house it had already had some weird people going through it.
Enough to mark the place as having an unusual atmosphere.
Some 70-80 years of weird people and occultism being practised.

I think it is a B&B today?

No idea what its doing now, been 20 years since I was down that way. Will take a run down next time I'm home will be an interesting day out, Trying to remember what the agent had said about the places history, but Crowley had left before the first world war I think. When we were there it had been empty for a while I seem to recall and it was the sort of place that people broke into for dares and such like. But then my memory is tricksy now.

"In the 1990’s the house was purchased by the MacGillivrays who remained there until shortly after Ronald MacGillivray’s death in 2002. The house is currently in private ownership and their privacy should be respected."

So not a B&B then.

Discounted entrance fee for recognised club members as well, that is a nice touch.
