Just out of interest, can anyone confirm if both CMMG and S&W perform the following with their BHOA and respective mags please?
1) Bolt stays open on last round?
2) Bolt stays open when you remove the mag?
3) Bolt closes when you press the bolt catch on the left hand side of the lower receiver and chambers a new round from a fresh mag?

Bradley Arms with CMMG BHOA and Evolution magazines does.

S&W M&P15-22 does as well

Thanks. Is it reliable?
The only solution for my Spikes ST-22 seems to be with S&W 15-22 mags and a catch-22 BHOA, although I found I had to replace the ST bolt spring with a CMMG spring to get it to chamber the new round from a fresh mag correctly (point 3 above). Hopefully it ticks all 3 boxes above now.

Yes to all 3 with a CMMG fed from the "newish" evo mags . reliability ? 8/10
With the old grey mags, the bolt moves forward when you remove the mag.

Interesting. I'm not sure why having a FULLY functioning .22 BHOA seems to be such a stumbling block. I wish blackdog had an external follower on their mags, as they're flawless.
Do we have any details on LanTac's new mag? Will this have an external follower?

My BAR .22 with CMMG SS Bolt, BHOA and Evo mags works very reliably if, like all .22LR Semi-autos, its kept reasonably clean. I won't attempt to put a percentage figure on it as no .22LR is 100% reliable despite claims, however, reliability is good enough for 2 and 3 Gun Matches where failures and jams cost you dearly.

Hopefully my ST-22 meets that standard as well now!

My ST-22 now works pretty much faultlessly with Black Dog mags and fairly reliably with a BHOA and the grey CMMG mags. Doesn't like the new evo mags though.
