Why not?? I think getting all those barrels under the Houses may be more difficult though.

The military have a genuine requirement for tracer with civilians it's just something nice to use or try. The MOD will take all the necessary measures to reduce the risk whenever possible but there will be times when the risk is considered too great and even the military will denied the use of tracer ammunition.
Gah! The MOD release a document and make a mess of it! TRACER is not banned, you can shoot it on the Field Firing Areas! The person who wrote the document accidently (rather convenient that) left the section out stating it was fine in the FFA! This is the email that went out to all members of our club from the club secretary clearing up the mess!:
Many of you have been concerned over the recent Range Safety Notice issued by the MOD via the NRA (See their web site) regarding civilian use of MOD Ranges.

The 2 main items being 10 & 20, with 10 stating that Tracer Ammunition can’t be used by civilian shooters on MOD Ranges.
I have taken this up with the author of the Document at the MOD and he has confirmed that the statement was incomplete, having missed out that it is OK on Field Firing Areas that are so authorised.
They will be issuing an amended notice to all concerned ASAP & In time for our shoot at Warcop C-8 on the 22nd June.
I have notified the NRA & passed on the historical documents from when the same situation arose back in 2005 & 2007 etc.
So don't get rid of your tracer if you have it, this is a foul up by the MOD not a ban!

As for no civilian use for tracer, have a chat with the guys who shoot 50cal! They would probably have something to say about that! ;)
