Tried to order a CMMG

@ Sim G
It hadn’t really clicked with me that MP 15-22 could be tricked up with AR parts. I’m quite excited now though, and have ordered a few bits.
Did you order your springs from Midway, and were they easy to fit?
@techguy
I’d be interested to know how you get on with the Hipertouch. Did you get hit with customs and the dreaded handling fee?

Re: Tried to order a CMMG
Big supporter of the 15-22 here
A great gun, and a low(er)-cost introduction into the AR-15 platform. Okay, it's a polymer receiver, but one that's been designed as a dedicated .22 trainer for the AR-15, so has a fully functioning hold open and bolt release. Although the dimensions of the lower are slightly thicker than a mil-spec AR-15 (due to the polymer construction), most decent trigger groups will drop in without any problem (I put a lovely Geissele SSA in mine); breaking down and stripping for cleaning is an absolute breeze. Leagues apart from the Umarex 'Colt' and 'HK' options on the market...
SimG: I'd be interested to know where you managed to get a Battle Arms 15-22 ambi-lever set from; I tried getting one directly from them, and by ordering from Brownells, but both routes were denied due to ITAR...?

Re: Tried to order a CMMG
That's a nice looking piece of kit. What scope is that.
BTW I ordered a Geissele SSA. I thought about just changing the springs. One of the things that put me off was that the only place I could find them was Midway, as in your order is midway over the Atlantic...somewhere... I think. Plus, well it just seemed the better idea.

Re: Tried to order a CMMG
All my ARs are fitted with Geissele Triggers, all Hi-Speed National Match Service Rifle Triggers apart from a Super Dynamic 3 Gun in my BAR15-22, excellent triggers IMHO.
Re: Tried to order a CMMG
Thanks Yogi - both guns (15-22 & the SGC 9mm) have an Eotech XPS2-0 on them; the magnifier is an Eotech G33 (3.bowl magnification), which I swap between rifles as needed.Yogi GunKanobee wrote:That's a nice looking piece of kit. What scope is that.

I tend to avoid Midway(UK) and use Brownells as much as possible. If you order several things at a time it makes the postage costs a bit more reasonable.
You'll love the Geissele; it transforms the feel of the 15-22 :)
Re: Tried to order a CMMG
I've got a 9mm on order as well! With a bit of luck it will be ready in 2 or three weeks. Currently the scope I've reserved for it is in on my new 15-22, a S&B 1.5-6*20 PMII ShortDot. The one intended for the 15-22 is the Elcan Specter DR 1-4 I recently bought on special offer from Lantec. I can't wait to try them both out!Blue Lizard wrote:Thanks Yogi - both guns (15-22 & the SGC 9mm) have an Eotech XPS2-0 on them; the magnifier is an Eotech G33 (3.bowl magnification), which I swap between rifles as needed.Yogi GunKanobee wrote:That's a nice looking piece of kit. Thanks SimG, but unfortunately I can't access PM's as yet!
