True! I do know that either bushmaster or armalite own the patent on .223 Rimfire though....

That would be a .22 Rimfire round to.....

If only they'd develope it :(

Yes, .22 magnum semi's are legal in the UK and, Alexander Arms have been working on a .22 magnum AR for a couple of years.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Yep, I'd be hopeful of one of them if ACPO got their way! They actually proposed the legislation restricting semi's to .22 rimfire was amended to ".22 and below".

When Bill Alexander came out with the .17 AR, he was approached by some from AR15 forum about the .22 magnum. It helped that Bill was a Brit! Seems there needed to be some fettling because of the "straight case feeding" issues, but, hopefully, eventually....

Ammo is way too expensive for a range gun, for the odd rabbit it may make sense otherwise not.

Sim,

I believe they have now overcome that problem or so I was reading a while back. They took a lesson from the .50 Beowulf which had much the same problem back during it's build and adjusted the feed ramp.

Over there in the UK sure, here in the US not the case. Besides if a straight pull AR15 was all I was legally allowed to own then I wouldn't bother, I'd rather spend the money on a nice bolt action rifle.

Bradley arms website has no prices, can anyone give me a ballpark figure for one of his .223 AR's, I know Lantac are high quality, but I would rather keep my AR cost to £1500 as I would like to add a couple of other calibre's to get me started.
