I haven't fully tested mine, although to fit in a Spikes Tactical I had to file the sides of the feed lips quite a bit because the bolt wouldn't pass around it. Likewise the spring is way too strong, it's probably twice as strong as my blackdog mag, seems like complete overkill to me. Also I found the mags don't drop out when you press the mag release button, but it's not really a problem for me. Having said that, I really like the look of them, the build quality is very good and they seem to cycle quite well as long as you don't over fill them. I'll keep fettling...

I can't get more than 15-rds into them and once the mag is inserted into a dedicated CMMG it takes two hands and a load of effort to get the mag out. Well done CMMG, you managed to produce yet another crap mag that is probably worse than the Evo. Amazing but if anyone has proved they consistently can't make a good .22 mag it is CMMG.

I disassembled them and snipped 1 coil off the spring.
They now reliably feed 21 rounds loaded, and they aren't as tight in the magwell as they were when new. They drop an inch and just need a little tug to come out now.

Clipped 2 coils and the most can get in is 17 rounds for reliable function, just as many as my Evo mags hold when they're spotless.
Have also sanded the many plastic burrs and joints on the top of one mag and still hangs up when released.

Wish I hadn't bothered tinkering, now I can't return the useless feckers.

I bought 4 of these mags to go with a brand new Mk4 A4 and it's been a huge disappointment.

If I use CCI MiniMag it flat out will not cycle more than 2 rounds at a time no matter how many I load in the mag. It either fails to go into battery (mk4 doesn't have the forward assist pin / spring even though the actuator IS present on the bolt carrier) or it mis feeds completely with bent / scoured rounds. If it hasn't quite gone into battery then sometimes dropping the mag out an inch is enough to get the bolt to close up - this might be the overly fierce spring?

If I use some Lapua standard I have it goes into battery every time, but occasionally bolt doesn't reciprocate far enough to cock the hammer again (subsonsics I guess). Not that I'll be using this - it was just to prove the point about ammo fussy. Interestingly enought the manual warns against using Remington brand ammunition without saying much other then poor reliability.

What I noticed with the mags is that the right hand feed lip (closest ejection port when fitted) has a nick in it - each and every one as soon as the bolt is closed gets this nick. I spoke to EMRR where it came from and they've spotted this themselves and flagged it to CMMG direct. The mags fit my Mk4 lower nicely, they'll drop out under gravity when the catch is depressed and they're a decent snug fit when inserted.

When the bolt doesn't quite go into battery, and dropping the mag out an inch sorts it - has me wondering about trimming the mags where the catch latches so they can sit a fraction lower in the magazine well - although given that Lapu Standards feed every time makes me think that this is more to do with the MiniMags having a rough as a badgers ar5e copper wash to them rather than their presentation to the feed ramp (which is very nicely polished from the factory).

I've put about 200 rounds through this Mk4 A4 CMMG and I'd say that it only cycled a 10 round load of lapua once flawlessy - good news is my stoppage drills have come on leaps and bounds.

I'm going to buy a mixed selection of 22LR so I can find out what it will and will not cycle, after that if it makes no difference then these mags are going back for either the EVO mags or the STANAG style Gen 1's (or maybe the black dogs).

That is appalling with a new, modern firearm.....! How much are they selling these guns for?
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

See this dollar price:

And turn it into pounds.........

Beginning to wonder if I should have gone Lantac raven - still uses the CMMG bolt but I hear good things about the Raven in 22LR.

Thank you for the reviews of the new CMMG mags, I am glad, but you will not be, that I let someone else purchase them first.

I have a spikes and use Blackdog magazines and have recently purchased 8 x 10rd Stainless steel lipped x-form magazines and they are top banana, (and a quick dremel mod to 15rd I believe). The feed no problems at all, but no BHOA capability but to be honest I can live with that, not a show stopper.

With regards to the CMMG, I am surprised it does run Std Velocity ammo, my spikes runs every thing std & high velocity, the only subs that was tried in it were Winchester super X, they worked the action but just didn't cock it, sorry if that doesn't make sense.

I know that spikes had some qualitiy issues, but my two run sweet, its a same is CMMG are now having the same, I am guessing the demand from the American market is getting too great.

If we can organise a delivery from the states check out 44mag for prices, $13.50 for the Blackdog http://www.44mag.com/product/869/22_ar15_magazines

I think the Better Mag adapter is the way to go for those with CMMGs. It allows for the S&W mag to be used with the CMMG and the bolt locks open on an empty mag. I will pick one up in the US next month, shame they don't ship here because i think there would be decent demand.
