Even worse, having the slot, and 'almost' enough money. Being £500 shy is a killer !!!! Roll on payday, stuff the bills ;) ;) ;)
Do you really NEED 2 kidneys?

I've been patiently ebaying stuff while I've been a probationer.

You mean 2 mortice locks per door?

I would. You can bypass a 'Yale' with a stiff sheet of plastic.

And biscuits. Chocolate Hob Nobs, Jaffa Cakes etc. As with gun cabinet size, get more than you think you'll need.

Had my interview/meeting this morning. It seemed to go very well indeed. He suggested I add moderators to the 2 rifles, just in case... seemed fine about everything else... fingers crossed it wont be too long now!

I have 'heard' that some indoor ranges insist on using moderators, presumably because of complaints from nearby neighbours, but I don't know of any personally. any????

Shooting is noisy, get over it (target shooting). However if you are in a sensitive area then it might be preferential.

I use two RFCA ranges in the middle of small towns with houses all around and they have both been re-roofed in the last 6-8 months.
The old asbestos kept the noise down for those living nearby, the new tin seems to amplify it. Range nights have to try to finish early if possible and on club nights anyone with a moderator is advised to use it just to reduce the impact. This is with two different clubs and the cadets (though the cadets don't have mods).
It is not a rule yet but if there are enough complaints from the neighbours it may soon be, or the clubs will be kicked off altogether.
Arming the Country, one gun at a time.

Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.
