I was using Hogdens powder for all my reloading, just been told that their powder wont be back in this country for a "very long time"
Last tub of Varget (a while ago now) was £37.50 for 1lb, TR140 (Swiss) cost me £57.50 for 2.2lb! even with a £10.00 a tub increase its still works out around £7 - £8 per pound cheaper than Varget.

Spoke to the chap I got my Lovex off and apparently he paid the standard price from Expolsia, no special deal or pricing. He's bought 200Kg of various rifle powders and is selling it in small (1 - 2Kg) batches to enable as many shooters as possible to be able to try it, once he finds out which are the most popular he'll be buying more and has no plans to increase the price, he says he's making a good profit selling it at £30/Kg so why rip people off?.

I used 43gr of the S062 with my Nosler 168gr CC and grouping was as good as the Viht N140 loads.

Only if you show yours to people, I had a long think about this and I doubt I will be building many more. People will either copy the idea and that is it, all of the thought and development time goes out of the window, either that or they will continue to support sweat shops outside of the UK producing tat that is sold on auction sites and does not even do a worthwhile job.

Back to powders, it is quite telling that powders out of the Czech Republic are thirty quid over here, powders out of Switzerland are over twice this price, I can only assume this is down to the cost of living or one being a superior product, heaven forbid it should be anything else.

But they are only £30/kg from the one seller, everywhere else it's £33 to £38 per pound.

I thought I would bring this to the top in the hope of an update.

There are two retailers listed in Aberdeenshire which are presumably the nearest to you. The last time I spoke to Nigel Cole-Hawkins maybe a month ago, he told me that loads-data development was still taking place. (No great surprise there as I always thought that the original timetable was too optimistic.) So far as a full UK roll-out is concerned, Nitro-Chemie itself has allegedly been very slow in producing the vast numbers of statements, certificates and documents needed to store, transport and sell explosives these days, but that was finally moving. I noticed that the Dolphin Gun Co. in Lincs had a shelf-full of various RS grades (bottled in Switzerland with the proper red+white RS branding on black background) when I visited Mik Mak at the end of last month and in fact impoverished myself a bit more by shelling out for a kilo of RS40.

Market forces will always prevail. Goods are priced to what the market will stand.

UK Border barrels were cheaper in the US - they had to be - to compete with home grown barrels.

If it's any consolation - I was shooting with some Finnish guys in Sweden a few years ago. They brought along some Lapua brass and bullets hoping to sell them - turns out they were paying more than we were!

That is correct - I acquired a reasonable stock of RS50 & 62 direct from Nigel in August, albeit not at the prices I had originally expected. I have recently acted as middle-man between Nigel and my usual dealer (MacLeods of Tain) and will hopefully have a stockist (still 70 miles away) soon.

Nigel's original timetable was stocks in place and a national launch 'for around the end of August'. This needed somewhat faster responses from the manufacturer than apparently happened, but it's academic to me as I believe that a comprehensive suite of pressure tested loads data is a sine qua non of selling handloading propellants and that's not yet available.
