4" thick wood attached to steel and you want portability? Remote start isn't an issue.
What do you mean by easily available? Can order off the net kind of available?
Operation would be a button press probably, maybe a couple of status LEDs.
Auto reset targets would be tough! I'll have a think about that

The wood would be demountable for moving or not necessarily fixed to the system just placed in front.

i'd be interested in something sub £200

portability and storage space would matter to me. easy to get in the car and not a huge space hog.
making the poles etc for the frame a nice standard size that is readily available from b&q etc.
the frontage or even the layout of the target turners to be moved about... like you could have changeable layouts so you don't get bored of the design.

there would also be airgunners and airsofters would would be interested in something like this

I get you, the controller should be available for many years, the servos would be pretty standard so should be readily available online.
I'm thinking removable wood in 3 sections, then the unit would split into 3 sections that fold flat.
Contained electronics and wires with connectors between sections.
Does anyone have an idea of dimensions, targets and the whole shebang?

That could be doable, maybe offer 3 heights for each target with slide-in covers.

Adam, not sure if you want to move this to it's own thread, I feel like we hijacked a bit :-(

Just watched the vid again, only has steel at the bottom, with the front made of polycarbonate you'd probably cut yourself so you can change any time.

The steel is only needed to protect the workings.

well thinking about it, the heights shouldn't matter. if it is a similar design that the target posts drop into the turner, then you just cut your post to a diffetent length to change the height. as long as the servos etc can be moved around to users needs. IE not hard fixed to a point on the board.

that way you could sell just the servo set and the target turners. plus the control kit. then the buyer builds their own target setup for what they want?? might have to supply the metal guard plate for the workings though

you would of course give them a suggested layout design and minimum spec of materials.....

The way I'm thinking of mounting the servos and the target holder I think you'd be able to move them around as you'd like in pairs.

Ordered some bits, I'll let you know what I find :-)
