So it is just the shooters on here that aren't using them properly?

Well I had to take it apart because I had to send the lower in to be replaced, as it had a defective sling loop mount.
There is another thread somewhere on here about that...

Neither the hammer or bolt hold open lever casing appears excessively worn/struck.
I checked the hammer in my BR99 for lateral wobble and thought i'd found something as the hammer in my Firebird Precision lower has literally no side to side movement, but then when i checked the hammer in my original lower there is a bit of wobble. Ggggrrr. Starting to get as frustrasted with this as you!!

You are barking up the wrong tree.
Nothing to do with the hammer.
If the lower & upper are tight, then that's not the problem.
I worked out the fix ages ago.
As I'm not a RFD I can't fix it for you & Helston (importer) doesn't recognise the problems easy fix.
Then send it back for repair or replacement.

I am not a gunsmith but will throw a couple of things in the air...
Hammer spring not strong enough
firing pin not going far enough forward
hammer not going far enough forward to push firing pin full length.(file some of either of 2 surfaces)
I am NOT saying these are the problems, just my 10 penny worth.
