BaconButty wrote:UPDATE:

Well the FEO has just left. He seemed ok with it all. He started off by stating that 5 different calibre's was a lot of firearms, then we talked through the reasons for each and he seemed happy enough.

Then moved on to ammo and he said that the main issue was that it was a lot of ammo ( ) He knocked me down by 500 on .22 and 100 on .223/556. He then pointed out that I'd asked for a lot of slug, but I explained about some club trips and going down to shield and he agreed.

Checked the cabinets, asked about the age of my kids and gave some advise on responsible teaching when the time was right, then left.

So I've put in for:

.22 - 1500/1000
.223 - 300/200
.308 - 300/200
.357/.38 - 300/200
Slug - 200/150

We'll see how the ticket comes though. fingerscrossed
Well.. IT'S HERE! in my hand, right now! (I'm *not* hugging it.. I promise) I got all the slots I asked for and I got a fantastic surprise! I asked for ".223/5.56" and ".308/7.62" hoping to ensure I'm not limited to just milsup or vice versa.

What came through was.. both, listed separately! :shakeshout:

.38SP - 300/200
12 bore slug - 200/150
.308 - 300/200
.22 - 1500/1000
7.62mmx51 - 300/200
.223 - 300/200
.357 - 300/200
5.56mmx45 - 300/200

Cool! I remember how good it felt! Someone trusts you!

Does it list it as .308/7.62 and .223/5.56 in section 1 (Firearms Possessed) and then each calibre separately in section 2 (Ammunition) of your FAC?

Yes, that's exactly it. So 5 items on the firearms part and 8 items in the ammunition part.

Just curious, what does the separate ammo allocations offer you over both being listed on the same line as mine are? i.e. mine says 7.62/.308 for both section 1 and 2.

How many rifles have you bought today?

Well I may be wrong (someone correct me if I am) but if you have them listed separately then you can buy 300 x 7.62 and 300 x .308. Providing your rifle isn't too fussy, that's a 600 round limit, instead of a 300 round limit if they're listed together?

I think sign85

I've not bought anything yet, Wednesdays are a busy day for me.. It shall be remedied today hopefully!!
