if you vary the speed at which you cycle the action you can shoot,open the action,catch the empty on the way down,store it safely,close the action and take the next shot, all in one smooth action

just wait untill you get it to 300/600 thats where the fun starts :shakeshout:

Second outing for the K31 yesterday, as witnessed by the collection of empty GP11 cases I now have.

I was struggling a bit with the sight picture, everyone else in my club was using scoped rifles, with the exception of one chap with his target rifle and another who produced a C&G DeLisle to much interest (it's very quiet even with 'normal' ammunition).

The targets were about 8" diameter, and we were shooting at 100 mards. My shots see to all go high and right. Should I be covering the target with the foresight, or resting the target on top of the foresight with the rear sight set at 1?

normally the K31 is harmonised to shoot dead on up to 300m then lollipop the target after that, personally I aim dead on out to 600, but with my homeloads that means I set the rear sight to 700m, over 600 I fit a scope it is possible to get front sight elements, and I made up a sight adjustment tool from a nut splitter, I wouldn't worry too much about the 100m performance if I was you, the rifle was built with Swiss target shooting practice in mind ie : 300m and at that range with a marker you will really get a feel for the accuracy from these rifles. I am still on for a day or 1/2 day if other people are interested.

Me too kenny, but I think it may have to be open to all F/B forum users who are NRA members that have milsurp rifles of any make that are willing to travel to get the numbers needed. Only a few put their names forward before.

Get yourself a St. Marie clamp-on mount and a half decent 3 - 9 x 40 scope. Strap it all on and prepare to be gob-smacked by the accuracy of your rifle. These things can really shoot.
