They've pulled it.....it was mentioned in Private Eye this week. The Devon & Cornwall constaboolary are apparently paying £500K for three assistant chiefs of police....one is in office, the other two are suspended on full pay.
Bet that goes down well with the local council tax payers....

I got my one/one free variation done today, at Falkirk Police station, while I waited! I was amazed at the speed and personal service. I just hit it lucky I think.

It turns out that once again they are changing who does what and where at Police Scotland. Going back to using civilian FEO's again soon too.

Even so, I was well pleased!

Well, not quite as bad as some were thinking - £131 for FAC renewal and £198 for grant of.

More hammering of the taxpayer. Licences are not for our protection but for protection of the general public - so why should the public not pay?

The Notting Hill Carnival cost millions every year - do those organising or attending pay? No taxpayers like me pay for it. So why should they not pay towards my FAC/SGC?

I do hope that these massive rises result in better service such as renewals in four weeks. Uncomplicated grants - 2 months and preferably shorter.

Unlikely, its not even like the money is ringfenced for FLD improvements (despite what that sham impact assessment document says) so there'll be no improvements just a hefty hike in cost and no doubt yet more people leaving/not getting into the sport

Should I get in an early application to make sure I get the low rate and there should be no hold up. Renewals due June 2029 - so just 220 weeks away?
