I still can't imagine how you can get used to a wind gusting at different speeds, but I hope all will become clear once I start shooting. No plans for an indoor 1000 yard range then? Climate control and mini bar :) party2

Some ranges are better that others, Barton Road (Cambridge) at 1000m can be blowing a gale and yet only need 1.2 Mils (3.5ish MOA) Stickledown at 1000 yards could be 16+MOA and Ulfborg 600m (Danmark) can have a steady breeze from all directions and yet need only .3 Mils/1 MOA.

I think if you can master Stickledown you can master anything.
