Very Nice, change it to a flat top with a quad rail forend in 300 Blackout and I'll have one pleasesconie wrote:i£1250

+1 for Bradley arms.. it's what I will be going for in a few months.
Re: Opinions on AR options. I need them!
1+ For Lanatac good quality, good service, accurate rifle and his website is current and up to date.

This will get you started but you'll probably be disappointed with the performance after a while if you shoot competitively.sconie wrote:

16" Bead Blasted, 1:9 Twist, Match Grade LW-50 Barrel - too slow a twist for consistently good results with heavier bullets (69 to 77 grain), slightly slow for 62 grain milsurp as the military twist is nearer 1 in 7.
Polygon Rifled .223 Wylde Chambered Barrel, M4 Barrel Extension
1/2x28 Muzzle Threading

Forged Mil-spec Charging Handle

Is there a Bradley Arms vs Lantac thing going on here?
I would suggest that both can provide what a shooter needs, who you chose is personal preference and don't forget Valkyrie Rifles and SGC as they produce match winning guns as well as Bradley Arms.
How to decide? Lots to consider; price, quality, customer service, delivery timescale, request for deposit, do these rifles win matches, how close are they to you, personal recommendation and gut instinct.

Nope, no only section 5 if it is assembled into a section 5 firearm and can only be used on a section 5 firearm, if it can be used on a section 1 firearm it reverts to a section 1 component upon disassembly.
That's how he home office told me it works....

My 1:9" shoots well enough, John, 3rd in the Methuen this year and with 77gn SMKs.John MH wrote:sconie wrote:http://www.nwcustomparts.com/ar15/image ... arbine.jpg

Mind you, only likes 80SMKs on a cold day, group opens up when it gets hot, so they only go in my 1:8 or faster twist rifles.
No, only S5 if it is a S5 rifle it is or has been used in.Spike's Tactical Mil-spec M16 Bolt Carrier Group - Section 5 Bolt Carrier Group if its for an M16
As John says, best thing you can do is float the barrel, especially if you sling in hard. This will get you started but you'll probably be disappointed with the performance after a while if you shoot competitively.Mid Length Handguards, Triangle End Cap - Ideally you want a free float forend but not necessarily a quad rail

Re: Opinions on AR options. I need them!
Maybe you got lucky but as a rule you need a faster twist even the Sierra box for the 77s says 7"- 8" twist, the 69 Box does say 7" - 10" twist. So if you want to shoot heavier bullets I'd recommend opting for a faster twist. The standard spec AR15 gun bought off the self in the USA usually has a 1" - 9" barrel as the mass market shoot a lot of 55 grain bullets and not the heavier 62 grain and up. That does not mean to say that you'll be able to shoot better than your 9" twist barrel but if its faster you wont be worrying if its too slow.Mattnall wrote: My 1:9" shoots well enough, John, 3rd in the Methuen this year and with 77gn SMKs.
