Just had a text to say that my application has been passed on to my FEO and they will be in contact to make an appointment in the next 4 weeks.

So another step closer.

Ouch, until recently it was that sort of time in Thames Valley, but they have apparently been getting much better in the last 6 or so months

After speaking to my feo I do understand she is working as hard as she can to get through the backlog.

However it's been over a month since my interview and still no ticket, I've contacted her on a number of occasions with only its on its way as a response.

Over all it's not good enough.

I'm sure it will, I wouldn't mind so much if at least one person within the force was honest enough to give me a straight answer.

If they had said a year and I got it after 8 months I would have been happy.

Instead I was told three months.

Managing people's expectations can make a massive difference.

The geeky side off me lights the idea from Scotty in Star Trek where you treble and time estimate, and when someone asks if you can do it quicker you knock off a third.
That way you can still over run and get it done quicker than you said.

Herts (and Beds and Cambs and whoever else has joined the party) have just turned around a new application for one of our club members in under a month.

Ever thought about moving?
