Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.
If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

Anyone considered to be a scammer will be banned without warning.

Re: BREAKING: UK bans pigeon and crow shooting
This is mind boggling
Just had an email from RSPB (I once bought some hand cream online and now I get their emails)
So people buy this cd to save the birds, meanwhile a ban is in place so that more songbirds can get killed by their predators.
This is going around in circles...

Hmmm...maybe they ought to have a word with Wild Justice about this. Oh, they are interlinked aren't they!?Hello Christel
Be part of something that's never been done before. We've created Let Nature Sing, a beautiful single of pure bird song. Buy it by 2 May and help us get bird song into the UK singles chart in time for International Dawn Chorus Day.
Time's running out for nature
Nature is in crisis. There are 40 million fewer birds than there were 40 years ago. We want to show that millions of us care deeply about nature and want to save it. Together, let's show what it means to us, before it's too late.

Re: BREAKING: UK bans pigeon and crow shooting
It’s quite obvious from the responses posted that people who are part of this forum have been made aware of the ongoing situation as regards the “Ban on Pigeon and Crow shooting” and from conversations with Gamekeepers and landowners they too are aware of this epidemic of tiny minority groups shouting the loudest.
When some such topic raises it’s ugly head is there an all encompassing alarm in place that links all shooting organisations together making all aware of any threatening situations?
I sincerely hope so !

It is very clear to see that he is looking in on the situation, he is not part of it.Pete wrote:http://www.chrispackham.co.uk/wp-conten ... wnload.pdf
Read pages 13, 14, and 15...........

A good example is woodcock, nobody I know who are syndicate shooters will even look at one. Let alone shoot it.

There are clearly a lot of people who DO shoot Woodcock and something like this, apparently encouraging people to do so, does the hunting community no favours: https://www.shootinguk.co.uk/tag/woodcock-club

I have talked to a lot of stalkers (deer I know, they still have an opinion) and syndicate members in Lincolnshire and the vast majority of them are of the opinion that woodcock is not to be shot.
