That was published in October. We received notification yesterday from Landmark that it now applies to all 6.5 calibres.

Yamavira posted above thought that the DIO has banned all 6. 5mm calibres from Catterick Bellerby ranges which is where most of the clubs around here shoot, especially since some of Ponteland range is out of action and everywhere else is heavily booked.

Yamavira wrote: Fri Nov 15, 2024 2:41 pm Just received an Email from Landmarc MOD.
ALL 6.5mm ammo banned on Catterick Bellerby ranges.
Second Email, with some RED text, clearly states any club caught firing 6.5mm ammo on the ranges will be banned from Catterick complex & reported to NRA.

Well soon be asked the question by the constabulary "where are you now using any 6.5 calibre rifle" which was previously used on an MOD range.

Another cut. Must be getting close to the 100 by now.

Thankfully, the 300 yard range I use is not an MOD range so no 6.5mm restriction there.

Peter.

Diggle in the 'north' should still be ok for them?

Diggle is ok, as is the tube range at Stev Smiths. Otterburn should technically be suitable too but think its hard/impossible to book

NRA has had email problems since sometime on Thursday, now resolved. NRA aware - we have the various notices and some background information and are considering it. When we have something useful to say it will be posted on the NRA website and I will post a link here and elsewhere on shooting forums.

In the meantime it would be helpful if affiliated clubs would refrain from contacting MoD direct.

I can confirm that Bisley ranges are unaffected; it is up to the range operator of any other private range to make their own decision.

Why should affiliated Clubs not contact the MOD direct to ask for clarification our Club Chairman who is a ex Military Officer has all ready queried why a 6.5 ban has been imposed. In my opinion every affiliated Club in the UK should be asking for clarification.
