If us squaddies wrote the book it must have 99% of the pages on cleaning the thing. And 1 at the back about destruction to stop it falling into enemy hands.
We have a REME armour in our dept who has just left the army, says he could fix anything with a lump hammer.

I used to work with fitters who could align the drive on a 250HP motor to .001" with a 7Lb sledge. I always say a proper man's tool is an angle grinder, ideally 8" and with the guard long since lost

No they are the Babcock Marine Refuellers. We try to avoid using cranes, much prefer block and tackle. :-P

Thats proper engineering B&T gin and shears and some SWR, you would have made a good sapper if the senior service did not want you.
