Can someone confirm/deny that the real counterpart has a 16" barrel? All the .22 ones I've found seem to have an 18" barrel - and that's a deal breaker for me.
I'll measure mine soon when I next visit my folks place, I seem to recall having it next to my CZ452 which has a 16" barrel, the extra 2" that is stated for the ads for the ARX seem to be the flash hider.
Now that they've officially come into the UK they are a lot cheaper than what I paid for mine (they are now in the region of £450)
Would I have liked mine at that price? Of course, do I feel that even at the much higher price that I got what I paid for? Certainly.
I've now dumped through 2,000+ rounds, I have yet to clean the gun apart from my usual clean a gun before you first shoot it routine. It has been lubed once, with FrogLube (Thanks for that Ray!). I have used Minimags, Standard velocity aquila and really s*** federal bulk in standard, again, no failures with any of them.
Accuracy, with optics it's great, with the plastic back up 'iron sights' well I used them for the first time yesterday, my RS55 scope has been removed as I need to get it repaired, the illumination never worked, I shoot in a dark indoor range. The irons worked great, at 25m I had nothing outside the 8 ring of a NSRA PL14 target, that is something I have NEVER been able to do with a Ruger 10/22 and it's irons.
Downside, the trigger is crap, actually it is pretty terrible, however, it's not as bad as that of a Walther G22 so that's something I guess, I've yet to look at the trigger group beyond basic field stripping, but I bet something can be done.
In terms of barrel length, you can cut it down to 12" and it still be UK legal.
