[quote="HALODIN"]I'm not surprised, he talks enough to have met everyone everywhere at least once...
I suspect he is, he won our club CSR competition with an enfield he picked up a couple of days before. He lives and breathes shooting AFAIK.
if he only let his shooting do the talking and not his gob
I assumed we were talking about .22LR, but maybe not.[/quote

We should probably start a thread on who hasn't met him, I'm sure there won't be many posts...

RM is a good shot there is no doubt. He was happy that his .22LR Raven would knock rimfire cases over at 100yards.
I was talking about another rifle with a Border Barrel. The cut rifled barrels I got from them were superb with a slight taper to the bore at the muzzle end and hand lapped, they shot very well.
Not cheap however.

So, how much is this "not cheap" you speak of...
Sounds like that's the kinda barrel for me...

Border are not making a cut rifled barrel at this time. After the sale and subsequent Mexican fall out it seems that they have some issues. I am still using them but right now its buttoned product only sadly.

Having just read up on the differences between buttoned and cut, I see why you would prefer a cut rifled barrel (so would I) - But I don't think, with a good button barrel, you would see any dramatic change in accuracy between them... :-)
Of course, you already know this, which is why you still use button barrels...!
Eggs, grandma, suck...?

I have a 25 yard range on Saturday I will see if I can bench it.(Lantac Raven .22) I think that's what you call it I just shoot the thing. If I can Ill post pics of the target.
I suppose I could post pictures of the rifle if any one was interested but I guess you all know what they look like any way.
I have a 100yard range a week on Saturday. (No forget it I changed my mind I'm not going to shoot it for groups at 100 yards.)

You should do, some are capable of great accuracy set that range. An old fella in our club had a BSA Martini with iron sights that would shoot one ragged hole groups at 100 on a still day.

Here's a quick sample. Match ammo cycled perfectly, but didn't group as well as the copper-wash.
RWS R50 @ 25 yards with ST-22 (12" barrel)
FIOCCHI COPPER-WASH @ 25 yards with ST-22 (12" barrel)
