Oh man! - It's so easy to put shots on the wrong target in the 1500...I did 3 last time and 6 the time before; and am determined not to do it again.
I'm struggling with the 50m stages too - someone suggested getting hold of a target and shrinking it down for practice at 25...I'm going to give it a try.
Are you going to the National Championships in August?

I reduce targets to 1/2 size and practise on them
Ive recently spent hours and hours practising fast loading the marlin and its now paying off as i struggle badly with 10 and 15m stage
Only shot it once grcf did 1470ish with 1 shot missing.
Will be going to nationals and also theres a great 1 day event in september. Slg bisley event. Cheap and reasonably quiet event. Great chance to shoot for low price and watch the top boys.

Masochists!
I've got a club TR shoot on the Sunday, so have been thinking about what to do...I might have another crack at the 1500 in small-bore, and few others (got to improve on my CF 295 T&P1 at the Phoenix) on the Saturday and make a weekend of it...

The only way to improve is to practice and eliminate bad habits. In the pistol days I used to shoot around 1000 to 1500 rounds per WEEK to maintain my standard. The biggest problem was finding a range to regularly shoot 50 yards. The Yanks have 50 yard ranges in their back yards and could easily do 1000 rounds per DAY - sponsored of course!
BTW the best I ever shot was a 1473 - I never did get to high master, despite a LOT of effort.
PP1 score average was 299 and an occasional 300.
For the short range, rapid fire sections you might consider a light weight boolit and a low load - I used a Lee 105gr SWC and 2.2gr Viht 310. I also used to adjust my sights to aim low and aimed at the centre of the number 9 so as to avoid my eye being dragged to the boolit impact point.
Keep plugging away. :cool2:

I'd be ecstatic with a 1473! - I'm aiming for a 1450... a hundred bulls-eyes out of a hundred and fifty would be a good achievement...
About T&P1 CF - The previous 2 Phoenix meetings I shot a 299...no problems with the 15 and 10m sections; but dropping 1 in the first detail...very frustrating when you can put 24 in the 10 ring when practicing :cool2: - This years' 295 really p*** me off, but it could well be because I didn't practice CF much due to concentrating on SB (as a new discipline)...as you say; practice makes perfect...
